Sole to Sole
The sneaker and the shoe had a sole to sole talk.
The sneaker was anxious and wanted to run,
but decided to hold back just for the fun.
The shoe became bored traveling the same route,
So he turned the corner and there was the boot.
The boot joined the couple on their traveling ordeal,
when all of a sudden appears the high heel.
Strutting so proudly, one had to look,
because the heel made a noise with each step that she took.
The heel (being designer) wanted to walk alone,
but the shoe with persistence made himself known.
The shoe with his polish and so neatly tied,
took hold of the heel and soon broke her stride.
The sneaker realizing what had to be done;
grabbed the toe of the heel and started to run.
The boot, much too heavy to catch up with the pair,
tried consoling the shoe in his time of despair.
The sneaker, still moving with heel in hand,
ran into an alley, knocking over a can.
Out of the can came an old worn -out shoe;
without hesitation, he knew what to do.
Attacking the sneaker with his flapping sole;
rescuing the heel was his only goal.
The old worn- out shoe now feeling proud;
embraced the heel in front of a crowd.
The boot and the shoe could only stare,
when the heel kissed her hero,
and said “thank you dear.”
When interpreting this story one might say:
You never know what you’re throwing away
