“The Pea, Potato, Meat and Bread”

This is what the Happy Cook said about the pea, potato, meat and bread.
Floating together in a big stew pot, the potato and meat could not get hot.
The pea so plump, tender and green got so hot he started to scream.
“I’m done; I’m done and can’t take much more”
He jumped from the pot onto the floor.
The Potato was starting to feel the heat – so he leaped from the pot leaving the meat.
The meat was happy enjoying the room until he was lifted by a spoon.
Being so tender, juicy and red – he was gently placed on top of the bread.
The fresh piece of bread wearing a frown Said to the meat “you must get down”
Together we don’t make a balanced meal – let’s find the others and strike up a deal.
Together they looked all around and found the potato on the ground.
Mr. Potato, have you seen the pea?” “No I have not, where can he be?”
‘Here I am yelled the pea” – “Why are you all looking for me?”
We all decided, like it or not – to wash ourselves off and return to the pot.
All except for the piece of bread – who stood back and watched the trio instead.
After their bath they felt like new.
They could hardly wait to return to the stew.
The bread knew how important it would be –
To have a stew made up of all three.
Of course you know this can’t be real.
But now you know what makes a good meal.
